My Boy is 18 months!!!

I figured that I better do an 18 months post for
history's sake. I can hardly believe that my little
man is a year and a half old. Gone is my little baby
and a crazy toddler has replaced him. This little boy
keeps me busy almost non stop but I wouldn't trade
my boy for all the gold in the world. Here are a few
things that I would like to remember about Adam
at 18 months.

He is a great eater and will eat just about anything
we give him. The one exception seems to be
avocado.

He is a great sleeper and I can't even remember
the last time I had to get in the night.

He takes one nap a day at about 11:00 and
sleeps from 1.5-3 hours

He is full of energy and does not like to sit
still.

He loves cars, trucks(yes there is a difference),
and balls.

He enjoys throwing EVERYTHING and
has a pretty good arm.

His first word was ball. He can now say dad, no
uh-oh(yes that is a word). every once in awhile
he will say book, car, cat, and truck. He says
dad all the time but mom...not so much :(

He LOVES to help load and unload the
dishwasher.

People always tell me that he is such a happy
child and he is...most of the time.

He get a lot of comments about his blue eyes...
I take most of the credit since he seems to
have inherited my eyes.

He charms everyone he meets when he isn't
scowling at them.

He weighs 22 lbs 8oz and is 32 inches tall
(25-50th percentile)

The only way to get him to hold still is to read
him books...he loves to read to for which I
am very glad.

He is already a master at testing his mom and
dad's patience but he is equally masterful (I
think that is a word) at melting our hearts and
bringing incredible amounts of joy into our lives.

I love you Adam!!!

A Practically Perfect Vacation

I just got back from a vacation to one of the most  wonderful
places. No I did not go to Hawaii or Europe (but I sure
would like to someday). I got to spend 10 days in Eagar.
Our family reunion was August 1-4th but I Adam and I went
down a week early with my Bro and SIL. While we were gone
Scott and his dad worked like crazy on our basement and
made a lot of progress but I will save that for another post.
I just don't know how else to say it other than I had a
fantastic time! With all the rain they have gotten it was so
green and beautiful!!! The weather was perfect. It rained
and when it wasn't raining it was in the 70's or 80's. I
got to spend so much time with my wonderful family that
I love so much!!! I am pretty sure that I have some of the
coolest nieces and nephews. The food was simply superb!!!
My mouth is watering just remembering it. Adam was in
heaven with such an awesome yard to explore and the cooler
temperatures.

Our cowboy reunion was so much fun!!! Thank you
Holly, Allen, Mom, and Dad for all your hard work.
It was nice to be be together as a family but I sure
missed Cassie. I looking forward to next year when
she will be home from her mission.

It was SO hard to come back to the heat and the relative
browness of Utah. It was hard to come back to my
struggling yard and to days spent alone with just Adam
and I. I love being around people so much and I can rarely
get enough. I AM IN SERIOUS WITHDRAWLS!!!!

I was having too good of a time to take pictures so the
only pictures that I have are of the house and yard.
The pictures are mostly for history's sake.

Root Cellar not a Hobbit hole but sure would have
been cool if it were.

Adam spent a lot of time here. He just could not get
enough time in the sand. Mom, I sure hope you vacuum
around the bed in Adam's room because half of the sand
box is in there :D

A 4th of July in the Sun

Since we couldn't be in Eagar (the only place to be for the
4th of July) we decided to visit Scott's parents in L.A. We
had lots and lots of fun while we were there.

Scott's brother was kind enough to let us go swimming
in his pool. Adam loved it!!!

We went to the aquarium which was a first for me.

 A really big fish!!!
 Jelly fish
Sting Ray that you could pet but I didn't get to pet it.
I did pet a little shark though.
Shark (not the one I pet)

We weren't sure if we claimed Scott's mother :D
Adam loved this fish because it had water coming out
of its mouth.
 Adam and Grandpa
Adam wasn't so sure about this penguin. Proof that I was
here too.
We also went to the beach. I was a little worried about
how Adam would handle it but this little boy LOVES
the beach. He just had to be in the water and after awhile
he was shivering so bad that he could hardly stand but
he got mad when we took him away from the water.

 Headed to the water

 My handsome men!!!

Adam also had fun playing in the sand.

I decided to be brave and try boogie(sp?) boarding. I
managed to catch a few waves but my landings were
pretty rough and lacked much grace. I really enjoyed the
beach this time. Last we went I wasn't too impressed but
maybe Adam helped it be a little more fun this time.

We really didn't do a whole lot for the 4th of July. We
didn't even see any fireworks but we did wear our red
white and blue but sadly I did not get a picture.

We spent quite a bit of time being lazy bums

I got sick while we were there :(

We went to church and took Adam to nursery
even though he is still a month too young.
Ahhhhh I forgot how nice it was to be able
to sit and enjoy Sunday School and Relief Society.
Adam did AWESOME in nursery!!!

12 hours is a really long time to be in the car.

I am glad we went but I am also glad to be home!!!
